EdenPhotography: September Wrap-Up

Last week (Tuesday, September 20th, 2011), we had our seventh Eden Photographers meeting. Thank you for everyone who came and participated, and I hope everyone will be able to come next month as well. Hopefully there will be others who missed this meeting who will also be able to join us. For those of you who have never joined us, we get together each month to discuss photography, go through examples of how to improve your photography, and simply have fun.

The main focus of this meeting was to discuss using negative space to your advantage. Specifically, I ran through a tutorial that covered examples of negative space and how it may be distracting or a real positive for your photography depending on whether it helps tell the story of what is going on in your photo.

This month we shifted the meeting to be as much about the tutorials of photography topics as it is about critiquing. Many people who attended the meeting posted photos that the others critiqued, and it was so successful that we will continue to structure the meetings this way. Our Eden Photographers tumblr site will remain active for any of you who would like to post photos to be critiqued that won’t fit into the meetings.

Two gift cards generously donated by EdenFantasys were also awarded during the proceedings. Two trivia questions were asked, and sexyintexas and Starkiller87won gift cards.

Please keep visiting the Eden Photographers subforum and get out and get your photographs for critiquing. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 18th, so we hope to see you all there!
